Restoration of houses - Interior design with contemporary furniture

One of the last home restorations made by Td-atelier has been a Japanese guest house which combines traditional elements with contemporary furniture. This Japanese house It was built 120 years ago in a narrow and typical site with five horizontal areas, two of which were dismantled and replaced by "voids".

For the remodeling, the architects used the two empty spaces to connect the space vertically, while in the other three areas we will see how they coexist antique elements with contemporary furniture. Each room It is separated by sliding doors that are a traditional element of Japanese architecture.

When the sliding they result in some rooms with contemporary furniture. When we open them, space becomes a unit in which we can contemplate the superposition of three types of spaces: the "void", the ancient space and the garden.

Contemporary Style, we show design of Facades and different types of structures.

While this is proven to be one of the most used and currently sought-after styles, it is also the modern style, we can say that the result of adding different endings, optimizations and updates, is the contemporary.

On the basis of modern design, what we nowadays call contemporary architectural style has been developed. A style that as we already mentioned, optimizes and updates the modern buildings, which are usually wide, with horizontal axis in the windows, wider than high, with low ceilings, and sometimes we do not appreciate ornamental decoration but there may be structural elements in sight.

The contemporary houses or houses they are made up of volumes, like harmonized boxes, and the different models are determined thanks to the different varieties of configurations. Something that we will highlight and that we consider that perhaps a step above in all this style, are the glazed surfaces.

Let's leave them with a few images so they can distinguish well this style, in which we will find not only modern houses but also Contemporary style villas. Items that will surely be used for future modifications in your home, or for new construction ideas. Without further ado, we leave you with them ...

House reforms: know the results in this house in terrible conditions

Sometimes the house renovations are necessary, in Facades World We know them, that's why today we bring you a reform of a house that was in terrible conditions, transforming it into a completely modern home as it was before. So, if you are interested, do not move from the screen because we are starting right now.

This intervention of house renovations It consists of the renovation of a corridor house. The objective of the architects of this project was to enlarge the kitchen space, anticipating its growth on the upper floor. To achieve this, they played with the volumes, which belong to the growth of the annexed functions, obviously, without stealing continuity between the interior and exterior… Let's see.

House renovations, let's see the results step by step

The property was in the condition that we can see in the image above: the front was in very poor condition and looked disused. This house had potential and could be expanded upwards by reinforcing the structure, that is where the house renovations of our colleagues and everything begins to change.

Unrecognizable, right? So are the results of the reform, a success! The facade changes with the color and the openings, now we can see that they are elongated and add a very modern look. The color palette, in blues and light blues, completely renews the house. The black bars add almost perfect contrast.

A hint of white adds light to the design. The floor has also changed, it looks much brighter and more contemporary.

Inside the environment looks super bright, the large openings reinforce that idea which is amplified with the colors that were chosen for most of the walls and the floor. The furniture provides the contrasts, in this case, in chocolate. For the dining table, on the other hand, light colors are used... Let's see an image of this.

To finish the house renovations that have been implemented in this design, another spark of color is seen on one of the walls, in orange, and in some pieces of furniture such as the red chairs. On the other hand, the functional and modern design allows to amplify the space saving m2. In that sense, modular and integral furniture are the favorites. Finally, in the area of living the staircase that leads to the new floor is born.

Wooden houses: you will fall in love with these designs

We can say that wood is without a doubt one of the construction materials of choice for many people. This is due to the number of qualities it has, which are difficult to beat. It is for this reason that today Facades World we are going to share with you some designs of wood houses, so if you are interested in getting to know them, do not leave the screen.

wooden house designs

Many of the designs of these wood houses They are of high quality, and this is due to the use of reforested trees, which makes wood a better and more ecological option when building. So we invite you to discover the following designs and tell us which one is your favourite... let's see.

There are wooden houses that use this material both in the foundations and structure, as well as in the lining of floors, ceilings and walls. The image we are seeing meets these parameters exactly, with two closed facades and two facing permeable facades. Thanks to this, the entrance of natural light and cross ventilation is allowed.

Another example of the use of wood in different house constructions it is the coating of walls, floors or ceilings with this material, as we just mentioned. In the house that you will see now, the walls have been covered with a natural and warm tone of dark wood, thus creating contrast with windows, ceilings, doors, and chimney... let's see.

There are also wooden houses on the beach or in the mountains. There are proposals like this that you will see below which mix alpine and modern elements, with white painted wood, which gives spectacular results.

small designs

Wood has the quality of being a super versatile construction material, which works for any size or style of house. Small wooden houses even look very cozy, combining almost perfectly with stone and glass as we see in the following image.

At the same time, wood retains that warm, welcoming quality even in larger, more contemporary styles like the house in the picture. This house has the peculiarity of being completely closed with folding wooden doors.

Although we can say that wood is a material that has been used for many years, despite the boom in concrete and steel, wood is still the favorite material of many architects when building.

Also, as we will see in the next image, we can choose the charm of the typical wooden houses with gabled roofs, large porches and galleries... let's see the next image.

Another great news about wood is that it has become a super efficient option as a construction material for prefabricated or modular houses. It is ideal for dry construction, and protagonist of many proposals for this type of housing currently in countries like Argentina.

Outdoor bed: make yourself comfortable in your patio or garden with this vegetable fiber bed

The use of decorative resources like this can help us equip and decorate the garden in a sustainable way. In addition, it can be considered an appropriate element for personal disconnection. Taking advantage of the exteriors of the home on good weather days is a factor to take into account. For this, the use of resources with which to provide maximum comfort is convenient; that's why today Facades World, we are going to know what this consists of outside bed of plant fibers.

Generally, we usually have chairs and tables in this area as a picnic area for special occasions; however, do we have a part prepared for leisure and rest time? Basically, it is very easy to prepare, you just have to know what is necessary. There is nothing better than enjoying a well-appointed home where comfort prevails and in which we have the necessary elements to achieve that calm that, after all, the decoration itself gives us. A outside bed it is a good way to gain that comfort.

Do you know what vegetable fibers are?

decorate with baskets

It is very likely that we have used a seat made with vegetable fibers on more than one occasion; however, we have not realized its nature or the structure itself; For this reason, it is important to learn more about this material, which is considered a fashionable resource. It is increasingly present in homes. The origin is vegetable; therefore, it has a certain natural component. It is useful for contemporary designs and adapts very well to any type of decorative style.

Some particular cases are, for example, wicker chairs, rattan seats, bamboo armchairs, etc. Each of these fibers has its qualities and appearances; In addition, they can be treated synthetically and thus receive greater resistance. A material that has gained a great tour in the world of decoration.

Characteristics of the round outdoor bed made of vegetable fibers

If we had to extract some of the most relevant characteristics of a outside bed, we can consider, first, that its appearance and design are very interesting to a space like the garden. Let's take a closer look at it:

  1. The format is very original. In the background, it is configured as a different seat to what we usually have indoors. The sofas are usually straight and low, while this acquires a very different condition.
  2. The circular appearance of the bed energizes the environment and invites its use. The sensation that it transmits is of a unique experience; that is to say, as we do not usually have elements like this, it becomes an attractive reference in the garden.
  3. Obviously, it is not going to be used for sleeping at night; actually, used more sporadically or in short periods of time. For example, for a nap, as a reading corner, to have a relaxing time, etc.
  4. There are different types: from those that are practically spherical with an entrance opening to those that are open with a simple drop-down parasol. If we go to the market we will find a great variety; it's all a matter of having good taste and choosing what best suits the garden.

Where could we put it?

Garden bed

Any area of the garden is appropriate; anyway, you have to create a calm and peaceful environment around it and don't set it anywhere. The most important thing is that we create a set that favors aesthetics and conveys temperance.

It can be placed in a grassy area, next to the swimming pool, in a chill out, in a personal rest space, in a gathering area, etc. It's all a matter of having imagination and turning this round bed into one more decorative item of the place.

Keep in mind that it will not go unnoticed, hence the importance of placing it correctly and being able to merge with the vegetation. Follow the pattern of Balinese beds.
