Contemporary style building updated

The original construction of building comes from the 40 years of Art Deco style and presents aspects such as ornamental ironwork, stained glass, and a hierarchical distribution by a central patio. Originally it was designed to function as public toilets, however, with the passage of time it was undergoing some modifications depending on the use that was given at the time and because of that it lost a bit of its original architecture.

The intervention converges aspects of contemporary architecture and it seeks to rescue the historical value that over time was losing the building. At the same time, we see how it was rehabilitated and new spaces for residential use were added to it.

The project understands the current need for use existing resources as much as the original construction is to generate a lower environmental impact and preserve the architectural value of the city. In order to preserve privacy in each of the departments, and to generate different visuals, a canceler was designed with angles and reflections, resulting in a complex of 12 departments of different designs and distribution.

It projects a way building without balconies nor retreats, respecting the morphology of the apple where it is located.

The existence of a patio between the two blocks generates cross ventilation in housing and continuity in the visuals. The kitchens and the accesses of the units look towards the patio. The reinforced concrete structure is visible in its entirety and the enclosure of the building It consists of prefabricated modules of folded sheet which make openings and support the brick.

We hope that this delivery will be of great help and pleasure and thus conclude with a great year for all our community.

Modern and comfortable lodging for a vacation in Mexico

East lodging located in San José del Cabo, Mexico, It was a work that started from a building with 6 one-bedroom apartments on 600 square meters of land in the Historic Art District. This idea was thought to provide an alternative to the expensive luxury beachfront resorts in one of the most expensive cities in Mexico.

The concept focused on lodging without luxuries, youthful, social and of the «do-it-yourself» type, for independent travelers who prefer adventure and culture to the «all inclusive». The low cost renovation It consisted of converting the original 6 apartments into 8 hotel rooms, an office, staff kitchen and laundry, guest cafeteria and retail space.

6 building flats ideal for offices or residential, simple minimalist interiors and a modern glass facade

Welcome back to Facades World, the day of the date we are going to offer you a new entry on our website. We are aware that in our architectural community, sometimes, it is necessary to supply them with something different, that is why we think that this article will be of great help and will not only solve some doubts but also display your imagination widely.

This modern vertical work located in Hoheluftchaussee, Hamburg, Germany, was created in 2015 on a plot of 2123.0 m2. The façade of this 6-story apartment building is made up of a double habitable skin, this is due to excessive traffic noise.

The fully glazed street facade is divided into segments to reflect the shape of each unit. These individual glass plates are tilted in various directions and covered with a film that varies in brightness, resulting in an ever-changing rhythm of colors, lights, and reflection.

Interior design

This condo composed of rental units and commercial premises is located on one of Hamburg's main arteries leading to the city center. The building is made up of a central nucleus with a circulation of nine apartments. Each floor contains two apartments, except for the top floor: there is an apartment with a large terrace.

The counter façade is oriented to the south overlooking the inner courtyard, thus avoiding the busy street on the opposite side. Each apartment has a south-facing balcony as well as a north-facing loggia.

Each floor of this work was created open and clean. The bedrooms are oriented towards the streets while the living room and kitchen open to the south side of the patio. This first floor was intended as an open office unit with a rooftop terrace.
