Three-story brick house, discover modern interiors and their plans

Once again we are in Facades World with a new post On this occasion we have selected a three-story brick house which has very modern interiors that will help them to get plenty of ideas for their respective jobs. They can also use this model for possible remodeling, or simply enjoy this spectacular construction located in London, United Kingdom.

The Blue House, located in London, United Kingdom, covers an area of 168 m² and was a project created in 2015. Dartmouth Park is a North London borough in Camden, on the side of the hill that rises to Highgate from Kentish Town. On its west side, it borders the fields of Parliament Hill, notable for its views that showcase the London skyline.

The clients were owners of duplex superior and had lived there for several years. When his neighbor on the ground floor decided to leave, they could agree to purchase this apartment and appoint the architects De Rosee Sa, to reinstall the building to its original arrangement as a three-story townhouse.

There were some challenges; how to increase the proportions to give the house a sense of grandeur and generosity of space. The first priority was to deal with a low floor-to-ceiling height on the ground floor, hampered by an unsympathetic level change between the front and rear of the building. It was achieved by moving the level change further forward, using the front as a locker room area, framing the bay window with tongue-and-groove cabinets on each side, and a window bench.

The extra height obtained in the middle of the ground floor of this three floors house facilitated the proportions to locate the kitchen in the center, with an adjacent dining area. The living room is towards the back, with a wood stove and a new window towards the garden. A long skylight brings lights to the background while the woodwork around the fireplace provides the living room with additional details and atmosphere.

The extension in the rear garden was reconstructed and widened to match the depth and shape of the neighboring roof, but with the blue brick Staffordshire to give it a more contemporary treatment with clear architectural details. A sliding glass door and a seat next to the window under a large window are directed to the new patio and garden. Cava limestone was used for the patio and goes up to the grass area.
