Welcome back to Facades World, on the day of the date we will analyze a beautiful Three bedroom house with city views which has been modernized maintaining its structure and combination of wood, metal and concrete. Next, we start with this project of Gilbert Colyn which was renovated by SAOTA.
This modern style house located in the mountain keeps an interesting history from its initial construction, was originally designed for the same architect Colyn over forty years ago, and in 2017 has been renovated by Saota, who with great subtlety and respecting the original design line, has achieved grant him a modern and avant-garde air to the design
In its design, we will find a facade with large glazed bays which makes the exterior connect with the interior and having a privileged view towards the forest and the city located in front of the mountain.
It has managed to harmonize materials such as wood and concrete applied both indoors and outdoors; open spaces are observed to the interior with the minimum use of dividing walls so the feeling is of complete integration with the nature that surrounds it.
This modern housing It is located in the lower part of the Table Mountain, we will see how the slope has allowed the creation of uneven levels of entry, making the main one through a flight of stairs and the car port being at the lowest level of the construction. There is an interesting color treatment on the façade that combines terracotta brown similar to the natural color of the mountain, combined with the textures of the exposed concrete in the upper panels.
Interior design
El interior design It has been renovated giving it a modern style but with the same feeling of warmth and original harmony. The ceilings and interior beams were clad with natural wood slats, the same ones that project outwards, we found black steel structures in conjunction with equipment of the same material and color as the fireplace in the social area. La house in the mountain It has three bedrooms: the main one (left part of the floor plan) has walking closet and bathroom, the secondary bedrooms share a bathroom. The dining room and TV. share an open area (right part of the plane), have excellent natural lighting due to the entrance of light on three sides and the wide opening of the openings.
