The gift of San Juan Cosalá

On the edge of the Laguna de Chapala, in San Juan Cosalá, Mexico, is located a weekend house which aims to see the largest natural lake in the country from each of its spaces.

Counting on a North-South orientation its main facade is oriented towards the water. In this entrance, both pedestrian and vehicular access were placed, thus generating a parking lot. If you look towards what would be the western part of the land, we will see the kitchen, the room for its managers and the concierge services.

If we refer to the garden wall, this is where the road leading to the main entrance and a double height lobby, in which the stairs will lead us to the upper floor.

From the part of the lobby on the first floor you can access the dining room and living room, both parts directly integrated into the kitchen, which still remains separated and physically supported by the space occupied by the services in the back. This is where you will find a small bathroom and patio, the laundry room, as well as bathrooms for the pool area and dressing rooms.

The space comprised by the dining room has continuity towards the terrace, used when there is an acceptable climate. On this terrace lies a infinity pool, which fuses the artificial horizon with the natural one of the well-known Laguna de Chapala.

Already at the top, we find the access to the four rooms, all with dressing room and bathroom, as well as a suite with terrace and viewpoint with a total and unparalleled privacy. We leave them with the remaining images so they can enjoy them and draw their own ideas.

Charming Mediterranean House

This Mediterranean style house, was completed in 2015 in Tavira (Portugal), by Atelier Rua arquitectos. It has 286 square meters on 1 floor, divided between a central house and 3 exterior bedrooms. The Mediterranean is inspired by Renaissance constructions on that European coast. Its charm stems from primary designs of Italian, Spanish and French romantic architecture.

The brick-colored tile roof type case is inevitable. Reversed or stucco plaster walls, outdoor seating areas, columns and arched openings, balconies and wrought iron details are also common when there are 2 plants and give them a certain exotic Mediterranean air, which never goes out of style.

There are also more straight and simple exterior lines, with roof to 2 waters, like the one we present today. This house was remodeled with cost between medium and high, taking advantage of everything salvageable from an old house by the sea in Tavira; Beautiful tourist destination on the Algarve coast in Portugal.

The result is a versatile house adaptable to many areas, not necessarily the beach. Its central construction has an entrance hall, living room and living room, toilet, kitchen and 3 bedrooms en suite. We find this proposal inspiring and replicable on a smaller or larger scale. Being in a spa, the buildable land was taken advantage of by adding 3 external bedrooms with their small patios. Ideal for visits and to be exploited as lodging in season.

The decoration is simple, with rustic furniture clear of wood and light lines. The interior design maintains the profile of the exterior, adding curved lines in some terminations, such as the chimney. Predominates the white and the raw and neutral colors, accompanying the luminosity and reinforcing its appearance of fresh, cozy and ventilated house.

Decorations with neon lights on some walls bring modernity and surprise, cutting with the extreme serenity of the rest of the proposal, but without losing good taste

Here at the remodeling original pillars were used as separating columns-partition within the environments, a resource that is repeated several times. This proposal full of freshness we loved and we hope that you too!

As usual, we leave them with the photos of the interior and the plan, so that they can not only delight in them, but also use them as an example for future remodeling in their respective homes.

Starting with our daily post, we introduce you to 'Vila Matilde' in São Paulo, Brazil, from the studio Terra e Tuma Arquitetos. Which was built in record time and overflows with modernity, comfort, originality, good taste and low budget. These features earned it one of the 2016 ArchDaily Building of the Year awards. The experts described it as bright, accessible and comfortable, which added to the low budget and short construction time, made it ideal.

La original house, in the Vila Matilde area, was bought 25 years ago and in 2013 it began to attract attention after a storm collapsed part of its roof. After these unfortunate situations, the owner and son decided to remodel it.

Facade and garage.

It is distributed on a land of 4,8 x 25 meters. On the ground floor you have the living room, kitchen, laundry room and bathroom. its minimalist decoration enlarges the spaces to make the most of them.

A bright corridor adjoining the kitchen, laundry room and an interior patio connects the front living room with the room in the back. In the middle, the green patio provides light and ventilation. This area also serves as an extension to the kitchen and laundry room. On the second floor we find a guest room, totaling about 95 square meters.

An incredible mini garden grows on the concrete slab ceiling of the living room, which can eventually be built for future demands of the family that inhabits it.

The result is a simple house, very nice and inexpensive!
